On October 31, the 160th anniversary of Axel Munthe’s birth was celebrated with the display of the movie Forbidden Love at the Cinema Paradiso in Anacapri. The event was a collaboration between the San Michele Foundation and Anacapri Municipality.
The evening began with greetings by the tourist council Massimo Coppola and the intendent Allan Klynne. After that, the author and researcher Bengt Jangfeldt held a lecture on Munthe’s relationship with Sweden’s Queen Victoria, followed by a speech by director Anders Wahlgren explaining how he worked during the shooting of the film.
The lounge was packed (200 people) and after the film show the director was praised by a warm applause.
