Beauty is the theme of this year's cultural festival The Salon of the Sphinx
From August 28-30, The Salon of the Sphinx returns to Villa San Michele. The festival invites protagonists from the world of art, literature and cinema, who dialogue with the audience on the terrace of the villa. The pandemic left us without beauty and culture. For that reason we have chosen Beauty as the theme of this year’s edition.
Set in the enchanting Villa San Michele, The Salon of the Sphinx presents a series of protagonists who, each in their own way, put beauty at the center of their work.
The festival opens with an exhibit of the magnificent silk fabrics of the Silk Mill of San Leucio, directed by Anna Maria Alois who keeps an old and sophisticated craft alive. Director Pappi Corsicati and actress Bianca Nappi have been successful in 2020 with the TV-series Vivi e lascia vivere (Live and Let Live), while Phaim Bhuiyan was awarded the film price Davide di Donatello as Italy’s best debuting director with Bangla. Paolo Stella will talk about his new book Per Caso (By Chance) and the role that influencers play in today’s society.
“The Salon of the Sphinx mixes traditions and novelty in different aspects of society. It’s open and curious and wants to attract all kinds of people: young and old, men and women to reflect together on the times we live in and what we would like for the future ", says Kristina Kappelin, director of Villa San Michele.
