September 19, 7pm - Festival CapriArt* “Napolitanska: Escape from a Marriage”
CapriArt* Returns Sept. 19-22 —Challenging Overtourism a Different Capri is PossibleThe fourth edition of the festival Art as a Gender Claim is dedicated to Sweden and will take place at Villa San Michele and Villa Lysis, offering a long weekend of sunset events.
Launching from September 19-22, the “CapriArt* - Art as a Gender Claim” festival will showcase a range of artists, including Anna Ammirati, Lino Musella, Cristina Donadio, Marie Modiano, and Peter von Poehl.
Produced by Etabetalab, the 2024 edition of CapriArt* draws inspiration from Sweden—a country deeply connected to Capri through visionary physician Axel Munthe and his Villa San Michele. The festival kicks off on Sept. 19 at 7 p.m. with a performance by Anna Ammirati, portraying the bold life of Anne Charlotte Leffler, a proto-feminist “at odds with society,” in the play Napolitanska: Escape from a Marriage, written by Anita Pesce, with pianist Sara Amoresano accompanying. The Swedish playwright and activist is depicted shortly after the death of Sofia Kovalevsky, a Russian mathematician and intellectual, with whom she shared a profound emotional bond.
