22-24 August, The Salon of the Sfinx, Culture Festival 2024

The Salon of the Sphinx returns this year for its sixth edition, focusing on the theme of identity.

Thursday, August 22

7:00 PM: Inauguration of the event with a cocktail in the Sculpture Loggia, followed by a meeting with the presentation of Ostiawood, a book by talent agent Daniele Orazi, published by Solferino Editore. Orazi will be joined by the actor Giampiero De Concilio reading excerpts from the book, offering a humorous look at the film industry.

8:00 PM: Actors Sara Lazzaro and Fausto Cabra will perform a theatrical piece from Ingmar Bergman’s Scenes from a Marriage, followed by a discussion about their work.

Friday, August 23

7:00 PM: Gianvito Fanelli, creator of the popular Instagram page "Vita Lenta," will discuss the beauty of simplicity, accompanied by Slow Food Italia President Barbara Nappini, who left a corporate career to embrace a life closer to nature.

8:00 PM: Actress Vittoria Schisano and director Ivan Cotroneo will discuss cinema, civil rights, and inclusivity, focusing on the Netflix series La vita che volevi - The Life You Wanted, written by Cotroneo and starring Schisano, which portrays the everyday life of a transgender woman.

Saturday, August 24

7:00 PM: Journalist and writer Paolo Valentino will present his new book Nelle vene di Bruxelles, sharing behind-the-scenes stories and interviews that explore the complex identity of Brussels.

8:00 PM: The festival ends with a discussion featuring Young Royals actors Edvin Ryding and Felicia Maxime, joined by Elisa Del Genio, the half-Italian, half-Norwegian actress known for her role in L'amica geniale. Together, they will explore the identities and challenges faced by today’s actors and youth.

The talks will be moderated in Italian by Villa San Michele's director Kristina Kappelin.

Organized by the Stiftelsen San Michele, under the patronage of the Consulate of Sweden, the Campania Region, the City of Capri, the Municipality of Anacapri, Siae, the Embassy of Sweden, and in collaboration with Capri Palace Jumeirah and Staiano Tour Capri.
