New agreement of cooperation between Villa San Michele and the Archeological Museum of Naples
The discout is part of a new agreement between Museo Archeologico Nazionale di Napoli (MANN) and Villa San Michele, that works both ways. If you come to Villa San Michele with your ticket from MANN, you will pay 6 instead of 8 Euros at the entrance.The agreement will be extended in the spring of 2020, with cooperation projects in different areas. It places Villa San Michele in a prestigous network of major museums. MANN has one ot the worlds most important archeological collections, for example from the excavations of Pompeii and Herculaneum. Currently, there is a fascinating exhibition of under water archeology, Thalassa, where among others, sculptures that were found in the Blue Grotto of Capri, are exhibited.
Axel Munthe was interested in archeology, which is testified by Villa San Michele’s collections. Among other objects, there is a Medusa head dated 307 AD, which Munthe recounts that he found on the bottom of the sea.
