Scholarship Winners and Guests

Since 1978 around 10 scholarships a year have been awarded from the Makarna Cederström-Wallengrens Scholarship Fund for short working visits to Villa San Michele. According to the conditions of the donation, older applicants have precedence over younger, and the scholarships only cover travel expenses.

Others can pay to stay in the guest residences, and then there are no age restrictions.

To stress that the stay at the villa shall not be seen as recreation it was decided in 1984 to no longer use the word “guesthouse” in brochures and other material. For both kinds of residents – scholarship winners and those who pay – it shall now be indicated that the stay will be at least three weeks, in order to emphasize the workplace aspect.
